THE RANCH HOUSE AT SUNSHINE WELLS

Six miles west of the dramatic Florida Mountains, among the giant yuccas of southern New Mexico, a rock outcrop and well rise from the desert floor. This landmark, and its life sustaining water, has been frequented by explorers and travelers over the years. Its oasis environment have sustained mankind and wildlife. Located at the headquarters of the Sunshine Wells Ranch, this oasis continues to offer respite to guests, and an abundance of wildlife.

At night especially, but also by day, the incomparable New Mexico skies are the real star at Sunshine Wells. Home of the “Al Light Memorial Observatory”, the dark night skies are a wonder to behold.

The Ranch House at Sunshine Wells offers five bedrooms and three full baths in a variety of lodging configurations. All are newly renovated, including the “Sunset” Suite adjacent to the pool, hot tub, and exercise studio, the two bedroom Sunrise Suite, and the Desert and Forest rooms with black out blinds. The Ranch House also includes a full country kitchen, dining and sitting rooms. It is the home of the Sky Camp at Sunshine Wells, offering an educational experience in Astronomy for newcomers to this fascinating pastime under some of the darkest skies in America. More advanced amateurs will enjoy the opportunity to observe deep space objects they have always wanted to see. Sky Camp offers the “Starlight Guarantee” that you will see and enjoy the night sky during your visit or the Sky Camp charges will be eliminated.

We are smoke free and meat free. A variety of dining options are available in nearby (15 miles) Deming, New Mexico. Meatless lunch and dinner are provided upon request for an additional charge, or guests may prepare their own meals in the fully equipped Ranch House kitchen.
